If the trainer doesn't seem to be working with the first 3 options, try a different number and try to best match the colors and experiment to see what the game is using for the team number. For the campaign, the first mission uses 2, or YELLOW, as the color. If you pick a different color than red for skirmishes or you have a color in the campaign that matches the list above, set the value in the trainer to the color, then press the option to set the trainer to affect that color faction in the current game.
